Sayona Inc. (“Sayona”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we process your personal information when you visit or use our website at https://www.sayona.ca/ (the “website”)—no matter where you are visiting or using our website from—your privacy rights, and how the law protects you.
When you submit personal information to Sayona or its service providers or agents (collectively Sayona, “we,” “us,” or “our”), you acknowledge that we may collect, use, and disclose such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by law. Subject to legal and contractual requirements, you may refuse that we use or disclose your personal information or withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer, whose title and contact details are provided in section 1 below. If you refuse or withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide you or continue to provide you with services, information, or business or employment opportunities that may be useful to you.
Please read this Privacy Policy before using the website. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the website. This Privacy Policy governs your use of the website and applies to any personal information you may provide. When you enter personal information on the website, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this policy.
This Privacy Policy is divided into twelve parts.

2. What personal information do we collect about you?
Personal information is defined as information that can be used to identify an individual. Personal information does not include information from which all references to the identity of an individual have been removed (i.e., personal information that was anonymized).
We may collect, use, store, and transfer the following categories of personal information:
- Personal identity information, such as your first name, last name, gender/sex, and age/date of birth;
- Personal contact information, such as your email address, postal address, postal code, and phone numbers;
- Personal technical information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and geolocation data, type of browser and operating system, Internet service provider domain name, cookies, and other technologies on the devices you use to access the website;
- Internet activity information, such as your browser history (including date and time of visit), search history and interactions with our website and online advertisements, backlinking websites, pages viewed, and queries; and
- Personal career profile information, such as the company you work for, your eligibility to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residence, or work permit), your CV, spoken/written languages, the jobs you are applying for, your mining modules, credentials, certifications, diplomas and memberships with professional corporations, work experience, availability, and any other information you choose to add to your application via our Careers page.
We do not collect any sensitive personal information about you (such as information about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, health, genetics, or biometrics). We do not collect information on criminal convictions and offences.
If you provide Sayona with another person’s personal information, you confirm having obtained all necessary consents from that person to allow us to collect, use, and disclose their personal information for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
3. How do we collect your personal information?
We collect your personal information in several ways, including the following.
a) Direct interactions
When you communicate with us, you may provide us with your personal information, namely when:
(i) using our Careers page to apply for a job;
(ii) using the contact form on our website; or
(iii) voluntarily providing your personal information while communicating with us by any other means and for any reason.
Identity theft is prohibited when entering personal information on our website.
b) Automatic interactions and through technology
When you access our website, we automatically collect personal technical information and Internet activity information about your equipment, along with browsing metrics and trends. We collect this information using cookies, pixels, server logs, and other similar technologies. We may also receive your personal technical information if you visit other websites that use our cookies.
4. Why do we collect and use your personal information?

- To the service providers who help us conduct demographic studies on our website’s visitors and job applicants;
- To fulfill our obligations under any law or regulation, investigation, subpoena, or order of a court or other administrative or government authority;
- To a law enforcement or government agency in connection with a fraud investigation (actual or alleged); the violation of a legal or regulatory requirement, or the terms of use of the website; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sayona, its customers/users, or its partners; and
- To an acquirer as part of an actual or proposed purchase (including liquidation and foreclosure), concession, merger, business combination, or any other type of acquisition, liquidation, transfer, conveyance, or financing of Sayona, in whole or in part, or of any Sayona property, stock, asset, inventory, or business.
We require all third parties to respect the confidentiality of your personal information and to follow legal requirements for its processing. We do not authorize our third-party service providers to use your personal information for their own purposes and we only authorize them to process your personal information for specific purposes, following our instructions.
6. International transfers
When you provide us with personal information, you acknowledge and agree that it may be transferred to other jurisdictions for processing and storage purposes, including to servers located throughout Canada and the United States, where privacy laws may be less stringent than in your jurisdiction. In addition, law enforcement or national security authorities and courts in these jurisdictions may have access to your personal information. 8. How long do we keep your personal information for?
Sayona stores personal information as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with any applicable legal obligations. The period of time for which we store personal information varies depending on the type of information and may extend beyond the end of the relationship between an individual and Sayona.
In certain circumstances, we may anonymize your personal information (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use it indefinitely without further notice.
9. Protecting children’s personal information
Protecting children’s personal information is of the utmost importance. Sayona recognizes it has a duty of protecting the privacy of children and has no intention of collecting the personal information of children under the age of 14.
The website and online recruitment service are intended to be used by adults. We do not knowingly collect information on anyone under the age of 14. If we become aware that we have collected the personal information of a child under the age of 14, we will delete that information. We ask parents and guardians to monitor their children’s Internet use to ensure their protection.
10. Your rights
Subject to certain exceptions and as permitted by law, you have the following rights regarding your personal information.
a) Right of access
You have the right to access the personal information that we have collected about you and to receive a general account of our use of that information. Sayona is not responsible for these advertisements, the websites these advertisements link to, or how other linked websites may use their own cookies or information. Sayona may revise its privacy practices and this Privacy Policy. Any changes made and the date of the last update will appear on this page.
